About Sophie
From corporate operations manager to community builder to coach... here's my story!
Hi, I'm Sophie. I coach business owners and aspiring business owners. If you're wondering why, it goes back further than you'd think.
I grew up around a family business, and the entrepreneurial bug caught early. As a kid, I was already running my own little "businesses," completely obsessed, even then, with the idea of building something.
Somewhere along the way, that spirit got quietly squashed. I got "realistic." I fast tracked a Business Management degree and graduated top of a cohort of 300.

I got a place on the Operations Management graduate scheme at Royal Mail, running my own team, fleet, budgets, continuous improvement projects, the lot. On paper, it ticked every box. Inside, I felt empty.
So I did what any sensible person does: booked a flight and disappeared travelling for four months.
Then came an offer I couldn't refuse. Big money, back into Operations Management, this time at Amazon. Bigger team, bigger targets, bigger responsibility.
While I was there, I started building a community on the side, just because I loved it. It was, by every measure, a successful career. And it would have been easy to just stay; the money was good, the title looked great on paper, and walking away from something like that isn't a small decision. But I kept growing that community anyway, tens of local business collaborations, hundreds of events, thousands of attendees, until eventually I made the leap and left Amazon to focus on it properly.
That side project became my first real business, and it's since evolved into the networking business I still run today, alongside coaching. That network is called In The Room Collective, providing in person networking events in Cornwall.
Along my journey, I've worked with multiple coaches, and I honestly wouldn't be where I am without them. That experience taught me what I loved about being coached, and just as importantly, what I didn't.
So I became the coach I always wished I'd had. One who actually listens and values your ideas. A thinking partner to thrash out everything you've been overthinking alone. Someone who respectfully challenges you, encourages you to take up space even when it's scary, and helps you build an action plan tailored to your reality, not a template.
Alongside my own experience, I'm ILM Level 3 qualified in Effective Coaching and hold a Business Management degree.
If you've got big ideas, a business (or the beginnings of one), and you're ready to stop overthinking and start moving, that's exactly what I'm here for.
